Trains run every 3–5 minutes at peak times and every 5–10 minutes off-peak. The metro runs from 5:30 am to midnight Saturday to Thursday, and from 10:00 am to midnight on Friday. Transfers between lines are free, and the fare is flat — it does not change with distance.

Frequently asked questions

When the fastest route needs a change of line, the planner picks the best interchange station — such as KAFD between Lines 1, 4 and 6, stc between Lines 1 and 2, or Qasr Al Hokm between Lines 1 and 3 — and adds an estimated time for walking between platforms and waiting for the next train.
Yes, it covers the whole network: Line 1 (Blue), Line 2 (Red), Line 3 (Orange), Line 4 (Yellow), Line 5 (Green) and Line 6 (Purple). It also knows that Lines 4 and 6 share four stations from KAFD to SABIC, so it won’t suggest an unnecessary change along that shared trunk.
Riyadh Metro fares are flat and time-based: a two-hour ticket costs SAR 4 in Regular class regardless of distance or number of changes, and it covers both metro and bus. So the price doesn’t change however long your trip is, as long as it fits within the ticket’s validity.
No. They are estimates, worked out from the distances between stations and a typical operating speed, and they don’t include the time you spend waiting on the platform. The Riyadh Public Transport Authority does not publish exact per-station timetables — rely on the platform screens and the darb app for actual times.
