About Ministry of Education
This is one of the more important points on the network in northern Riyadh: a single shared station where Line 2 (Red) meets Line 5 (Green), with the change made inside the station rather than by walking to a second building. It is also the northern end of Line 5, the point from which that line starts its run south towards the National Museum, while Line 2 trains simply pass through between King Abdulaziz Road and An Nuzhah. The station is built at grade, on King Abdullah Road, close to the Ministry of Education headquarters it takes its name from, and it draws the staff and visitors of the ministry and the government bodies around it. Plenty of its passengers have no interest in the neighbourhood at all and use it purely to switch between the north of the city and the centre. Changing between the two platforms costs nothing extra — the same ticket covers it while it remains valid.
It sits between King Abdulaziz Road and An Nuzhah on Line 2. It is a shared interchange station between Line 2 and Line 5: the lines call at the same station, so you change inside it without leaving the gates or paying for a second ticket.
It is an at grade station and runs to the network hours: 5:30 am to midnight Saturday to Thursday, and from 10:00 am on Friday. The SAR 4 two-hour ticket covers the metro and the buses. Below you will find the station on the map, journey times, interchanges and facilities.
