About PNU 1

PNU 1 is the first of two Line 4 (Yellow) stations serving the campus of Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University, the largest women's university in the world, in northern Riyadh. The station is elevated, with platforms above street level, and it sits at the southern end of the campus — the nearer of the pair for anyone arriving from the direction of SABIC and the King Abdullah Financial District. Demand here follows the academic calendar rather than the ordinary commuting pattern: it builds sharply as lectures start and finish on teaching days, and falls away during holidays and at the weekend. North of here Line 4 continues to PNU 2 and then to the King Khalid International Airport terminal stations, which puts the campus one direct ride from both the airport and Riyadh's financial core, with no change of train in either direction. In the opposite direction, a southbound train reaches SABIC in a few minutes and KAFD without any change at all.

It sits between SABIC and PNU 2 on Line 4.

It is an elevated station and runs to the network hours: 5:30 am to midnight Saturday to Thursday, and from 10:00 am on Friday. The SAR 4 two-hour ticket covers the metro and the buses. Below you will find the station on the map, journey times, interchanges and facilities.

Frequently asked questions

PNU 1 is on Line 4 (Yellow) of the Riyadh Metro, which runs from KAFD to Airport T1-2.
Both are on Line 4 (Yellow) and both serve the same university campus; what differs is where they sit. PNU 1 is at the southern end of the campus and is the closer of the two if you are coming from SABIC, while PNU 2 lies further north on the line and is closer if you are heading to the airport.
No — only Line 4 (Yellow) serves this station. To reach another line, travel south to SABIC, Uthman Bin Affan Road or Ar Rabi, all of which Line 4 shares with Line 6 (Purple), or carry on to KAFD, where Line 1 (Blue) calls as well.
It is elevated: the platforms are carried above street level and reached from the ground below. That is the pattern across the whole northern section of Line 4, from the university stations all the way to the King Khalid International Airport terminals at the end of the line.
Service at PNU 1 station runs to the Riyadh Metro network hours: from 05:30 to 00:00 Saturday to Thursday, and on Friday from 10:00 to 00:00. Hours change during Ramadan and the Eid holidays and are announced at the time — check the schedule page before you travel.
Yes. There are ticket vending machines (TVMs) at Riyadh Metro stations, and you can buy a card or top it up there or at a ticket office. Note that the darb app does not top up the card balance — full details on the darb card page.
