About King Salman Park
King Salman Park is the first stop the Green Line reaches after leaving its northern terminus at Ministry of Education and turning south. Like every station on Line 5, it is deep underground — the whole route runs in tunnel beneath King Abdulaziz Road, and at 12.9 km (8 mi) it is the shortest line on the Riyadh Metro. The name comes from the King Salman Park project, the enormous redevelopment taking shape on the site of Riyadh's old airport, east of the As Sulimaniyah district. Riders use the station for the project's grounds and the residential streets that ring it, or to begin the short run south towards Al Wizarat and the run of government headquarters that gives this line its whole purpose. Sitting at the top of the route, King Salman Park effectively acts as the northern doorway onto the city's government spine. Line 5 is the only service calling here; there is no interchange at the station itself, and the changes to other lines sit at either end of the route.
It sits between Ministry of Education and As Sulimaniyah on Line 5.
It is a deep underground station and runs to the network hours: 5:30 am to midnight Saturday to Thursday, and from 10:00 am on Friday. The SAR 4 two-hour ticket covers the metro and the buses. Below you will find the station on the map, journey times, interchanges and facilities.
