About Ministry of Defense

South of the Al Wizarat district, still following King Abdulaziz Road, Ministry of Defense is a deep underground station on Line 5 (Green). It is named for the ministry standing in its immediate surroundings, as most stations on this line are named for the government bodies above them. It falls between Al Wizarat to the north and King Abdulaziz Hospital to the south, in the ribbon of the route that captures the line's whole reason for being: moving staff and official visitors into the government quarter without making them fight through surface traffic. Journeys from the station are short in either direction. A few minutes south brings you to National Museum at the end of the line, the shared station where the Green Line meets Line 1 (Blue) and the stop for the King Abdulaziz Historical Centre; northbound trains run up through As Sulimaniyah to King Salman Park. Only Line 5 calls here, and there is no interchange at the station itself.

It sits between Al Wizarat and King Abdulaziz Hospital on Line 5.

It is a deep underground station and runs to the network hours: 5:30 am to midnight Saturday to Thursday, and from 10:00 am on Friday. The SAR 4 two-hour ticket covers the metro and the buses. Below you will find the station on the map, journey times, interchanges and facilities.
