About KACST

KACST takes its name from King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology, the national research complex that stands beside it on King Abdullah Road in north-west Riyadh. This is the point where Line 2 (Red) first goes below ground — the two stations behind it are elevated, and here the alignment drops into a shallow box close to street level. Most passengers have business at the City itself: staff, researchers and visitors attached to its laboratories, centres and offices, with government premises scattered along the same road adding to the morning flow. Residents of the nearby blocks use it for a different reason, as a fast way east into Olaya and the centre without driving. From here the line runs on to At Takhassussi and then to stc, the shared station where Line 1 (Blue) is reached on the spot. Trains come every three to five minutes at peak and every five to ten at quieter times.

It sits between King Salman Oasis and At Takhassussi on Line 2.

It is a shallow underground station and runs to the network hours: 5:30 am to midnight Saturday to Thursday, and from 10:00 am on Friday. The SAR 4 two-hour ticket covers the metro and the buses. Below you will find the station on the map, journey times, interchanges and facilities.
