About King Fahad Sport City
Line 2 (Red) finishes here, at the eastern end of a run that starts far away at King Saud University on the opposite side of Riyadh. The station is built at street level and serves King Fahad Sport City, the sports complex in the east of the city with its stadium and associated venues. Its reason for existing is not subtle: on match days and during major events it becomes the main way in for crowds coming from northern and central Riyadh, and it spares a great many people the traffic and the search for a parking space. On ordinary days it is a much calmer place, working for the complex itself and the eastern districts around it. As a terminus, trains depart in one direction only — west, through Ishbiliyah, Al Khaleej and Al Hamra towards the heart of the city. That first westbound stretch is also where the connections are: Al Hamra shares its platform with Line 6 (Purple), and further along the line, Ministry of Education and stc do the same for Line 5 (Green) and Line 1 (Blue) respectively.
It is the end of Line 2, after Ishbiliyah.
It is an at grade station and runs to the network hours: 5:30 am to midnight Saturday to Thursday, and from 10:00 am on Friday. The SAR 4 two-hour ticket covers the metro and the buses. Below you will find the station on the map, journey times, interchanges and facilities.
