About Khalid Bin Alwaleed Road
The station is named for Khalid Bin Alwaleed Road, which the line crosses at this point in eastern Riyadh, and it is built as a shallow underground station on Line 2 (Red) between Riyadh Exhibition Center and Al Hamra. Densely built residential districts press in on all sides, and shops, restaurants and services spread along both corridors, which gives the station a continuous rather than peaky rhythm across the operating day. Most of its passengers are locals: westbound in the morning towards the offices of northern and central Riyadh, eastbound towards Al Hamra and King Fahad Sport City. Its real value is what sits one stop away — Al Hamra is a shared station with Line 6 (Purple), so this stop is plugged into far more of the network than its own platform suggests. Fares are by time, not distance: SAR 4 (about $1.07) buys two hours in Regular class.
