About Al Murooj
Al Murooj is where Line 1 (Blue) disappears underground: it is the first deep tunnel station after the elevated section that ends at KAFD, one stop north. It serves Al Murooj district, spread along King Fahad Road just north of Olaya, where office towers, apartment blocks and roadside commercial frontages sit side by side. The passenger mix follows from that — staff heading into the offices on the corridor, residents making everyday trips towards the city centre, and visitors who would rather not hunt for a parking space on a congested road. The name belongs to the district itself rather than to any single landmark, which is unusual on a stretch of Line 1 where most stations borrow the name of a bank. Only Line 1 calls here, but the position is a comfortable one for changing: KAFD is a single stop north for Lines 4 (Yellow) and 6 (Purple), and stc is three stops south for Line 2 (Red). Southbound from Al Murooj the line stays below ground all the way through Olaya, the government belt and the historic centre.
It sits between KAFD and King Fahad District on Line 1.
It is a deep underground station and runs to the network hours: 5:30 am to midnight Saturday to Thursday, and from 10:00 am on Friday. The SAR 4 two-hour ticket covers the metro and the buses. Below you will find the station on the map, journey times, interchanges and facilities.
