About King Fahad Library
King Fahad Library station sits on the King Fahad Road corridor in Olaya and is named after the King Fahad National Library close by — one of the city's landmark cultural buildings, with its white façade and the garden around it. It is a deep tunnel station on Line 1 (Blue), between Bank Albilad and Ministry of Interior. Three layers overlap in the immediate surroundings: the library and its cultural facilities; the Olaya office towers, Al Faisaliah Tower among them; and the commercial streets branching off the main axis. The result is an unusually mixed set of passengers — library users and researchers, staff from the neighbouring offices, and people heading for the shops and hotels. After this station the line begins to swing south-east, leaving Olaya behind on its way towards Al Muorabba and the centre of the city. It is also one of the few stations on Line 1 named after something a visitor might genuinely want to see, rather than a bank, a ministry or a district.
It sits between Bank Albilad and Ministry of Interior on Line 1.
It is a deep underground station and runs to the network hours: 5:30 am to midnight Saturday to Thursday, and from 10:00 am on Friday. The SAR 4 two-hour ticket covers the metro and the buses. Below you will find the station on the map, journey times, interchanges and facilities.
