About Passport Department
Passport Department stands in the northern part of central Riyadh, along King Abdulaziz Road near Al Muorabba, where a cluster of government departments and public offices sits. Line 1 (Blue) is the only line serving it, and it is a deep tunnel station: the platforms lie below street level, reached through covered entrances that keep passengers out of the midday heat. People come here first and foremost for the General Directorate of Passports and the official bodies beside it — errands tied to fixed appointments, the kind that make driving at rush hour a gamble. The station lies between Al Muorabba and National Museum, which puts the change onto Line 5 (Green) one stop to the south, inside a single shared station rather than at the end of a walk. Interchanges and connections
Line 1 (Blue). Direct trains run towards SAB Bank and in the opposite direction towards Ad Dar Al Baida. The adjacent stations are Al Muorabba and National Museum.
Buses. The darb system covers the metro and the buses on one ticket, and bus routes and bus rapid transit (BRT) services run around Passport Department. You do not need a separate ticket to switch between metro and bus while your ticket is still valid.
Taxis and ride-hailing. Taxis and ride-hailing apps (Uber, Careem) are available at the station entrances for short trips beyond the network.
