About Transportation Center

The job of Transportation Center station is spelled out in its name: it links the metro to the public transport centre in southern Riyadh, from which coaches run to cities across the Kingdom. It is elevated, on the Line 1 (Blue) viaduct, and no other line serves it. What it changes is the shape of an intercity trip — you arrive by metro from anywhere on the network and step across to the coach, or do the reverse on the way into Riyadh, instead of arranging your own way out to the southern edge of the city with luggage in tow. The station sits between Al Iman Hospital to the north and Al Aziziah to the south, in an area given over to service and transport uses rather than housing. It is the only stop on the Blue Line that exists mainly to serve another mode of transport, rather than a district, a landmark or an employer.

It sits between Al Iman Hospital and Al Aziziah on Line 1.

It is an elevated station and runs to the network hours: 5:30 am to midnight Saturday to Thursday, and from 10:00 am on Friday. The SAR 4 two-hour ticket covers the metro and the buses. Below you will find the station on the map, journey times, interchanges and facilities.

Frequently asked questions

Transportation Center is on Line 1 (Blue) of the Riyadh Metro, which runs from SAB Bank to Ad Dar Al Baida.
It connects the metro to the public transport centre where intercity coaches to the rest of the Kingdom start and finish. Rather than arranging a separate trip out to southern Riyadh with your luggage, you ride Line 1 (Blue) directly to the door and walk across.
Yes — the fare is flat and covers the metro and Riyadh’s city buses together: SAR 4 (about $1.07) for a two-hour Regular ticket, SAR 10 for First class, paid with a darb card. Intercity coach journeys are separate and have their own tickets.
Two stops. Al Aziziah comes next going south, and then Ad Dar Al Baida, the southern terminus of Line 1 (Blue). In the other direction the line runs through Al Iman Hospital and the city centre all the way up to SAB Bank in the far north.
Service at Transportation Center station runs to the Riyadh Metro network hours: from 05:30 to 00:00 Saturday to Thursday, and on Friday from 10:00 to 00:00. Hours change during Ramadan and the Eid holidays and are announced at the time — check the schedule page before you travel.
Yes. There are ticket vending machines (TVMs) at Riyadh Metro stations, and you can buy a card or top it up there or at a ticket office. Note that the darb app does not top up the card balance — full details on the darb card page.
