About Al Malaz
Al Malaz is one of Riyadh's oldest planned districts, laid out in the 1950s with a regular street grid and open space, and it has stayed among the most mixed parts of the city in both its residents and its services. The station serving it is a deep-tunnel stop on Line 3 (Orange), between Railway to the south-west and Jarir District to the north-east. People come here for the district's housing and commercial streets, for its well-known sports and leisure facilities — Al Malaz Park and Al Malaz Stadium among them — and for the schools, clinics and government offices spread across the neighbourhood. That the station is underground says something about what stands above it: the metro passes beneath a residential fabric settled for decades, so there was no room for a viaduct. Its traffic is spread through the day rather than concentrated into two rush hours, which is unusual for this side of the network.
It sits between Railway and Jarir District on Line 3.
It is a deep underground station and runs to the network hours: 5:30 am to midnight Saturday to Thursday, and from 10:00 am on Friday. The SAR 4 two-hour ticket covers the metro and the buses. Below you will find the station on the map, journey times, interchanges and facilities.
